Holiday Tradition Report
Dear Families,
As the winter holidays approach, it’s a special time for children to learn about the similarities and differences in the way people celebrate. Please take some time to review your family’s holiday practices with your child. Then select one tradition or custom unique to your family that your child would like to share with the class.
The purpose of this report is not to teach about a certain holiday, but to share how your family celebrates so children become aware of one another’s ways of expressing holiday joys.
Please help your child prepare a five-minute sharing. Sharing should include a description of the tradition and why it is special for your family. The oral report might include a demonstration, sharing photos, video, artifacts, books, recipes, games, etc. Sadly, this year we won’t be able to share food, due to the new regulations put into place after BelAire’s norovirus outbreak.
Think about the following questions when planning a report:
This is a kids-only presentation. Please let me know if you have more questions. The schedule follows.
Sincerely,
Ms. Salzmann

Think about the following questions when planning a report:
- Is the tradition part of a holiday?
- Where does the tradition take place?
- Who is part of the tradition?
- What happens when you celebrate?
- How long has the tradition been in your family?
- Where is the tradition from originally?
- What makes the tradition special to you?
- Will you continue the tradition when you grow up?
This is a kids-only presentation. Please let me know if you have more questions. The schedule follows.
Sincerely,
Ms. Salzmann
