Classroom Environment
The classroom is structured for whole group, small group, and individual instruction. There is movement from task to task. Noise level is expected to be appropriate to tasks, lessons, etc.

Individual Accountability
I use a card system. Children receive 5 character cards each week. When a child has accumulated 15 cards, he or she may turn them in and choose a prize from the treasure box during Choice Time on Fridays. Children who are not following directions or who are disrupting class lose a card. Cards for excellent actions are also given as bonuses to children who are behaving as kids of character and are caught being helpful, thoughtful, and kind. The card system is in place for quiet lines and on the playground with our aide.
Group Rewards
Table points are also given. At the end of each week, the team or teams with the most points receive two extra character cards.
Our marble jar is filled by the group. When all of the marbles in the large container fill the black cylinder, it’s time for a popcorn and video party, stuffed animals welcome!
